The PTV Driver App is a supplementary tool designed to facilitate the calculation of road transport arrival times. Primarily, it functions as a demonstration and testing platform for clients utilizing the PTV Drive&Arrive cloud service. By transmitting the current location of a shipment, the app enables PTV Drive&Arrive to compute precise estimated times of arrival (ETA) and automatically notify all registered stakeholders in the supply chain.
In typical logistical operations, deviations such as traffic congestion can result in significant information gaps, affecting the entire transportation process. Routes and estimated arrival times to recipients or loading facilities often change unexpectedly, making timely communication and rescheduling challenging.
